My girlfriends aunt who is a DVC member schedule moonlight magic for my birthday but she didn’t end up coming on the trip. I am a DVC member myself but the reservation is under her name. Will they let us in or can we change the reservation to my name?

Hi there, Joseph! Welcome to planDisney and Welcome Home, neighbor! I'm so glad that you've stopped by with such a great question. I always love chatting with a fellow Disney Vacation Club Member!

First, let me start by wishing you the happiest and most magical birthday! There is no better way to celebrate your birthday than a visit to The Most Magical Place on Earth, and adding a Moonlight Magic event seriously ups the magic quotient to infinity ... and beyond! These complimentary, Member-exclusive events are my all-time favorite Disney events and the ultimate DVC perk, in my opinion. I am SO excited to hear that you and your girlfriend are registered for an upcoming event, so, let's make sure that you both get to attend and have the BEST. BIRTHDAY. EVER!

When your girlfriend's aunt registered for the Moonlight Magic event, she should have received a confirmation email. In this email, there is a link to modify or cancel the registration. Have her open this email and click that link to change the number of Guests attending and see if she can change the name on the registration. If not, I spoke with the most helpful Cast Member with DVC Member Services who advised that if that does not work, you should call Member Services to try to change the name of the person who will be checking in for the event.

When I checked in for the Moonlight Magic event at Disney's Hollywood Studios in May, I had to provide my last name and present my digital DVC Membership Card and photo ID to receive my Moonlight Magic wristband, snack vouchers and access to the event. So, just be sure that you have a photo ID and your Membership Card with the status "DVC Y" downloaded into your smartphone's digital wallet. I would also bring a screenshot of your girlfriend's aunt's registration confirmation email, just to be on the safe side. It's magic time!

One more tip! I recommend arriving at the park as early as the event registration allows so that you can check in and grab some snacks before the quick-service dining locations close for the evening. After the restaurants close, the lines for snacks can get kind of long, so, fill up early!

I hope this was helpful, Joseph, and I hope you have the most magical and memorable birthday at Moonlight Magic! Please stop by any time with any vacation planning or DVC questions you may have along the way. You've got a friend in me!

    See ya real soon,
