My girlfriend and I are wanting to get an annual pass for Disneyland. we have already been 1 time this year with visitors from out of town. The question is: can we use the passes we've already used and apply that towards the cost?

Hi there, Kris! On behalf of all of us at planDisney, welcome! We really love to see our fellow Guests sharing their planning questions with us, and it is always an honor to lend a hand!

I'm so excited to hear that you're interested in the Magic Key Program at Disneyland Resort. It really is such an amazing way to experience the theme parks and the special benefits and offers designed just for Magic Key Holders! While it is possible to upgrade purchased tickets and apply their value to the purchase of a Magic Key Pass, there are some restrictions and other important details to keep in mind.

First, a used ticket must be upgraded on or before the last day of valid use. For example, if you purchased a one-day ticket, it would need to be upgraded before midnight on the day of your visit. If you have multi-day tickets, you would need to upgrade them prior to midnight on the last day that they are eligible for use. According to the terms and conditions, a fully used ticket, a partially used and expired ticket, and other ineligible ticket types are not available for upgrade to a Magic Key Pass. You may also wish to review the Magic Key Pass types, as currently, only the Inspire Key is available for new sales. Hopefully, we will see new sales on other Magic Key Pass types open up in the future!

In the meanwhile, my recommendation is to consult the Ticket Upgrades page as it contains some helpful insight on how to upgrade your tickets either through the official Disneyland mobile app or by visiting the main entrance ticket booths. I also like to remind Guests that theme park reservations are still required of both ticket holders and Magic Key Holders, and that existing park reservations do not transfer with a ticket upgrade to a Magic Key Pass. So, if you choose to do this, you would need to ensure that park reservations are still available and be prepared to make a new one for your Magic Key.

I hope this is at least a helpful start, Kris! If you have any other questions, or if I can clarify anything further, please feel welcome to come back and see us again here at planDisney
