Me and my girlfriend are visiting the park on 21 Aug, and it's our first time! We are planning to visit Disneyland park only, and would want to know how to best plan this only day for us? What should I do before I come & when we are there?

Welcome to planDisney, Andrew! I am so excited that you and your girlfriend will be visiting Disneyland for the very first time! There is something truly special about experiencing Walt Disney's original park together, especially when you're visiting during the opening day of Halloween Time. Let's talk about a few ways to help you make the most of your one magical day in Disneyland.

First, assuming you've already purchased your theme park tickets and secured your hotel accommodations, I highly recommend downloading the Disneyland app and spending a little time exploring its features before your trip. The app is one of the most valuable planning tools available to Guests. You can use it to manage tickets, purchase Lightning Lane Multi Pass, check attraction wait times, view entertainment schedules, browse dining locations, mobile order meals, and even locate characters throughout the park. Becoming familiar with the app before you arrive can make your day feel much more relaxed once you're walking down Main Street, U.S.A.

Speaking of planning, my biggest recommendation for a one-day visit is to arrive early. Guests often refer to the first couple of hours after park opening as some of the most productive hours of the day. Attractions such as Space Mountain, Indiana Jones Adventure, and Peter Pan's Flight frequently experience shorter waits during the morning. Starting early can help you accomplish several headline attractions before crowds build later in the day.

I would also strongly consider purchasing Lightning Lane Multi Pass. You can add it when purchasing your tickets or purchase it in the Disneyland app after entering the park. This service allows you to reserve return times for select attractions throughout the day, helping you spend less time waiting in line and more time enjoying the park together. My Q-Tip is to set a reminder on your phone or smartwatch each time you make a selection. It's a practically perfect way to ensure you're always ready to grab your next return time as soon as you're eligible.

Since you'll be visiting on August 21, you'll also be arriving on the first day of Halloween Time at the Disneyland Resort. One attraction I would absolutely prioritize is Haunted Mansion Holiday. Jack Skellington and his friends from Halloween Town transform the classic attraction into a wonderfully whimsical blend of Halloween and Christmas. It's a seasonal favorite and one of the most popular experiences in Disneyland during the fall season.

Beyond attractions, don't forget to slow down and enjoy some of Disneyland's iconic experiences. Take a photo together in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle, enjoy the atmosphere of New Orleans Square, and spend some time exploring the beautifully decorated Halloween displays throughout the park. If your schedule allows, I highly recommend staying through the evening. Disneyland takes on an entirely different feeling after sunset, and seeing the lights come alive throughout the park is often a highlight of a first visit.

Andrew, the good news is that there is no perfect Disneyland itinerary. Focus on experiencing your highest-priority attractions, enjoy the atmosphere, and leave room for a few spontaneous discoveries along the way. Some of the most memorable Disneyland moments happen when you least expect them!

I hope this helps as you count down the days to your adventure! If you have any additional planning questions, please visit us again at planDisney. We'd be delighted to help.

May your first Disneyland visit be filled with plenty of magical memories together!
