me and my girlfriend are trying to go to the parks in december, hopefully if they are open.we are wondering about hours of opening, because Disneyland at night is part of the whole experience, what are y’alls predictions on hours, parades and fireworks?

    Welcome to planDisney, Nadja,

I wholeheartedly agree! You haven’t experienced the Disneyland Resort until you have been there at nighttime. Whether it is the quiet lighting of Critter Country overlooking the peaceful waters of the Rivers of America or the vibrant colors of Pixar Pier reflecting across Paradise Bay, there is always an awesome sight to behold in the evening.

Madame Leota has been holding tight to her crystal ball. So we don’t yet know the exact plans for the reopening of the Disneyland Resort theme parks and Disneyland Resort Hotels. Though operations are often different from one coast to the other, we may be able to look toward the Walt Disney World Resort for a few clues. For example, as the Disneyland Resort progresses through its phased reopening, we can expect that parades and nighttime spectaculars will return at a later date.

Though upcoming Disneyland Resort theme park hours have not been announced, I’m personally hopeful that they will include some time after dark. Currently, some of Walt Disney World Resort theme parks happen to be closing after sunset. With the end of Daylight Saving Time come November, all but Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park will be closing after the lights come on for evening enjoyment. I can’t make any guarantees, but I’m optimistic that you and your girlfriend can cruise down Route 66 listening to “Sh-boom” as the neon lights of Radiator Springs come alive when the Disneyland Resort theme parks reopen.

Thanks for visiting us at planDisney, Nadja. We’re here to help with any other questions you may have about your visits to the Disney Parks. Whether it’s a recommendation for your next dining adventure or tips for which seasons are best for your future visits, we are happy to share our love for Disney Parks with fellow Guests.
