HI!!! My girlfriend and I are about a month from our first cruise. One of the excursions she is dying to do is parasailing at Castaway. As I'm terrified of heights, I was just wondering about the experience. Any info will be greatly appreciated

    Welcome aboard, Jeff!

So great to hear that you and your girlfriend are on your final countdown to your magical cruise. You will have such an awesome time with Captain Mickey and his crew. Castaway Cay will be beautifully decorated for the holidays, so I'm sure you're looking forward to the sunny warm weather, while enjoying your Very MerryTime Cruise.

Parasailing over Castaway Cay was an epic adventure for me and my family, just over a month ago. According to my 13 and 15 year old, this port adventure was A W E S O M E ! (and that response was accompanied by a maniacal scream). It was our first time parasailing, and my jaw dropped at how amazing this experience was. Once safely strapped in, you are gently lifted into the air from a sitting position on the boat. This experience felt exhilarating, but at the same time offered a sense of calm, as you sail across the waters overlooking the Disney Cruise ship docked at Castaway Cay. It was an absolute gorgeous view, perfect for taking aerial shots with a small camera (I highly advise strapping it on your wrist if you bring one with you). The way down was also very gentle, as the captain slowly reels you back on the ship. You can choose to be dipped in the water a little if you'd like a more splashtacular way back to the boat :-).

If you don't do well with heights, this might not be an ideal activity for you. But should you decide to go ahead and try it, both of you will get a major burst of adrenalin from this activity. Up, up and away!

Are you interested in hearing more about other port adventures? If you like the water, there are pretty neat excursions available too. Please do write back if you have any other inquiries that we can try and help with.

    Happy Planning, Jeff!
