So me and my girlfriend want to go to Disneyland on a Sunday but want to purchase the magic key pass. Unfortunately the key pass has black out dates on weekends would we be able to purchase a 1 day ticket hopper and then upgrade to a key pass in the park?

Hello, Joshua! Thanks for stopping by planDisney and asking your question!

I'm delighted to hear that you are considering purchasing a Magic Key! You can absolutely upgrade a one-day ticket to a Magic Key and the process that you outlined in your question is exactly the right plan. You will purchase your one-day ticket and make a theme park reservation for the day you want to visit. Enter the park with your one-day ticket and then, anytime before the parks close that day, you can upgrade to a Magic Key in the Disneyland app. It's important that you wait to upgrade until you have entered the park because that's the only way to keep your theme park reservation intact for that day.

Keep in mind that after that day, you will still need to make theme park reservations for each day you want to visit with your Magic Key. You can make reservations up to 90 days in advance and you will use a theme park reservation availability calendar that is specifically for Magic Key holders

I hope this helps! Have a great day!
