My girlfriend and I will be at Disney World for 6 days starting Monday, June 10. It seems that I have injured my foot and am unable to put weight on it which makes it difficult to walk. How does Disney World accommodate for such a problem?

    Hi Adam,

I'm sorry to hear that you hurt yourself. It's crazy but we will be leaving for our trip on the 8th and I fell down a flight of stairs this past Saturday! I thought that I had broken a toe because it was swollen and bruised immediately! Fortunately, it is getting better and I can walk on it now.

In your case, if you cannot put weight on it, the first thing you should do, is go to a doctor to get it checked out. Depending on the diagnosis you may be put in a boot or cast. At this point it would be up to you to see if it would be better to ride in a wheelchair or not. The chairs are available at the parks (for rent) and resorts. Walt Disney World is very good at taking care of guests with disabilities and they will do everything to make sure you are comfortable. They do have separate entrances for guests in wheelchairs at certain rides. Do make sure you take care of yourself prior to your trip.

Thank you so much for asking the Moms Panel! Maybe we'll see you in one of the parks next week! I hope you have a great day!
