    My girlfriend and her daughter were at WDW in 1971 and in 1996 for the 25th anniversary and we are planning a 50th anniversary trip to WDW is Disney doing anything special for people who have accomplished this or what can I arrange to make this special?

    Hello Don! Welcome to planDisney! Your girlfriend and her daughter certainly have a unique accomplishment! I'm not sure how many people can say they've been to the Walt Disney World Resort in the opening year, the 25th anniversary year, and plan to be there for the 50th anniversary!

    The Walt Disney World Resort had been in the planning phases of The World's Most Magical Celebration and then attention needed to be given to planning for a safe reopening following the closure. Disney fans, including those of us at planDisney, are excitedly awaiting details regarding the 50th anniversary! I am regularly checking the Disney Parks Blog as this has been a great source of the most up-to-date news regarding the Disney Parks! I expect news about the 50th anniversary to be shared on that site.

    Don, one thing that might make the visit very special is if you can find out some of the things that your girlfriend and her daughter did when they visited in 1971 and 1996. Maybe you could plan to revisit some of the places that made those visits special for them. Consider booking the same Disney Resort Hotel or some of the same Disney Dining experiences that they experienced in 1971 or 1996. Another special moment might be for you to find some old photographs of your girlfriend and her daughter from their previous visits and recreate those photos during your upcoming visit! I am sure they would love that sentimental gesture!
