My girlfriend is going in April 2022, and has MS, she will need a scooter to help her get around the park, how will this affect her and her family waiting for rides? Unfortunately standing for long periods is hard for her. Does Disney offer scooter rentals

Welcome to planDisney, Vincent! It is our passion to help Guests experience the most magical Disney vacation possible. I am so glad that you brought your question here, and as a person living with Multiple Sclerosis myself, I would be happy to offer some tips and guidance to help your girlfriend have a magical visit to Walt Disney World Resort.

I am pleased to inform you that Electric Conveyance Vehicles (ECV) and wheelchairs are available for rent throughout Walt Disney World Resort. Your girlfriend can rent an ECV or wheelchair for the day at the Walt Disney World Theme Parks, Water Parks, and Disney Springs. Your girlfriend can use the ECV or wheelchair to make her way through the parks and while waiting in lines for attractions. You can read more about daily rentals on the ECV Rentals page and Wheelchair Rentals page.

You can find helpful information about services for Guests with mobility disabilities on the Services for Guests with Mobility Disabilities page. On this page, you can review a list of attractions that will require your girlfriend to transfer from her wheelchair or ECV to an attraction, and which attractions she can experience while remaining in her ECV or wheelchair. If your girlfriend can transfer from her ECV or wheelchair with the assistance of her family, she will be able to experience any attraction she desires. If your girlfriend struggles with more than mobility issues because of her MS, I recommend stopping by a Guest Relations window at one of the Walt Disney World theme parks to discuss accommodations.

Since many people living with MS struggle with heat intolerance, I recommend packing cooling towels, cooling vests, and fans with misting sprays. I like to spend the hottest part of the day either in one of the fabulous air-conditioned Walt Disney World restaurants or returning to my Disney Resort hotel to cool off in the pool or my resort room. It is always a great idea to schedule some time for rest and recovery.

I hope this information helps your girlfriend plan for an unforgettable vacation in The Most Magical Place on Earth! If you have any more questions, please do not hesitate to stop back by planDisney. We are always here and happy to help.
