Hiya Lorraine,
Welcome back to planDisney! Without a doubt, the best part of visiting Walt Disney World Resort during the
holidays is the gingerbread houses and decorations. I am always in awe of the detail that goes into every aspect of celebrating the yuletide and the artistry shown by every Cast Member involved.
I know that last year you mentioned your family’s tradition of picking up a gingerbread house at the
Grand Floridian Resort and Spa and how disappointed you were that you might not be able to get one in 2025. I hope you were able to find one last year with Shantel’s help! Unfortunately, Lorraine still hasn’t heard any news on whether the iconic gingerbread house display will be returning to the Grand Floridian Resort this year. I know it was put on hold for The Perch construction last year, so I’m hoping that, now that construction is complete, the gingerbread house will reopen this year. I’m not sure if you are following the
Disney Parks Blog, Lorraine, but we are one day away from Halfway to the Holidays and all the holiday announcements. If you don’t already have plans to check out the site tomorrow, be sure to do so; we may have news about the gingerbread displays planned for either tomorrow or in the coming days.
I wish I had better news for you, Lorraine, but know I am also anxiously awaiting news along with you. While we both await any news, as I mentioned before, keep an eye on Disney Parks Blog, and as always, check back in with us if you want to. We would be happy to share all that we know with you. I do want to remind you that if the gingerbread house does return, in order to park at the Grand Floridian Resort, you will need to have either a confirmed dining reservation or be a resort hotel Guest of the Grand Floridian Resort and Spa.
Parking is limited at the Grand Floridian, so they do not allow Guests to just park and see the gingerbread house.
Happy Planning,
Ashley F.
