We are being gifted tickets as a graduation gift. The family member buying them is military and plans to use his military discount to purchase them but he will not be accompanying us on the trip. Will we be able to use those tickets without a military ID?

Welcome to planDisney, Alicia, and let me offer my sincere appreciation for your family's military service. How generous of your relative to offer to give your graduates the gift of Disney magic! Your tentative trip dates are in the latter part of July, typically when the EPCOT International Food and Wine Festival begins. This is one of my favorite festivals because it offers so many fun food carts for tasting, and I always enjoy ending the day listening to some fun music at the Eat to the Beat concerts. So let's talk about military tickets to see your options.

According to the Offer Details for the current Disney Military Salute Ticket promotion, the military service member must purchase the tickets at a participating military base. They can purchase up to six tickets, but one of the six must be used by the service member. On the first day of use, the military member or their spouse must be present at the theme park to show their military ID.

However, I have another suggestion, Alicia. The service member can purchase Magic Your Way Tickets through Shades of Green, the hotel available for military families at Walt Disney World Resort. You don't have to be a guest at the hotel to make online ticket requests, but service members must meet the eligibility requirements. These tickets are often discounted, so it is worth checking into. You can also check the Special Offers, Deals, & Discounts page on the Walt Disney World website to see if your family is eligible for any other discounts, such as Florida Resident discounts or special seasonal pricing. I've found that discounts are often offered in the summer months, so keep checking!

I wish the service member could join you at Walt Disney World Resort! They could enjoy the magic alongside the graduates and make some wonderful memories together. But if that isn't possible, I hope you find another option that works for your family.

Thanks again for stopping by, and please reach out to planDisney anytime, Alicia!

    Magic awaits,
    Elaine
