Hi Robert, and welcome to planDisney. Thanks for bringing us such a thoughtful question.
One of the things I love most about Walt Disney World is just how many
incredible dining options there are. Whether you’re traveling the globe one bite at a time in EPCOT’s World Showcase, sitting down for a white-tablecloth celebration dinner, or grabbing small bites at quick-service spots so you can try a little of everything, there is something for every taste.
Unfortunately, Disney does not offer gift cards tied to a specific restaurant, even one as outstanding as
Takumi-Tei. The good news is you can purchase a
Disney Gift Card that can be used across nearly all dining locations at Walt Disney World Resort. I think this is actually the best option because while you can still book that Takumi-Tei reservation and gift them a card to cover the cost, if there’s anything left over, your son and daughter-in-law can use the balance for something else that catches their eye. Maybe that’s a Mickey Ice Cream Bar, a DOLE Whip, a frozen citron slush in France, or a sweet
School Bread in Norway. The flexibility means the gift continues to add value throughout their trip.
While Takumi-Tei is a phenomenal choice, I’ll also throw out a couple of my personal EPCOT favorites you may want to keep in mind.
Space 220 is an experience that’s truly out of this world, and
Le Cellier in the Canada Pavilion offers one of the best steaks on property. My family and I tried both recently, and they are absolutely staying on our must-do list for future trips.
Robert, I hope this helps you put together a wonderful gift and an unforgettable experience for your family. If you’d like me to share some tips on booking those harder-to-get reservations or strategies for making dining day go smoothly, swing back by planDisney, and
I’d be glad to help.
Cheers,
Brent
