Welcome to planDisney, Derek,
Collecting
Disney Gift Cards is my favorite way to budget for our Disney Parks vacations. You can use them at any Disney-owned and operated location at the Disneyland Resort. I use Disney Gift Cards for everything from paying for my stay at one of the three
Disneyland Resort Hotels to purchasing
balloons. And, yes, you can even
use Disney Gift Cards for most purchases within the
Disneyland app. I have used Disney Gift Cards to place
Mobile Food & Beverage Orders and to purchase the
Disney Genie+ service within the Disneyland app.
Tony’s Tip: A
Disney Gift Card eGift purchased from
shopDisney.com can be added to the digital wallet of your mobile phone. I love the convenience of making store purchases using my phone or my smartwatch without needing to pull out my wallet. It works similar to other mobile payment methods, except rather than tapping your device against the payment terminal, the Cast Member at a point of sale location scans the barcode displayed on your mobile device. Also, I usually copy the eGift number to a note on my mobile phone so I can easily copy-paste the number for purchases made within the Disneyland app.
I love that you can use your Disney Gift Cards at most locations throughout the Disneyland Resort, including in a
galaxy far, far away. As a heads-up, you will want to be prepared for a few Disneyland Resort locations that don’t currently accept Disney Gift Cards. These include non-Disney-owned shops and restaurants located in the
Downtown Disney District. Having a backup form of payment handy may be useful for such cases.
You’re going to love using Disney Genie+. On our recent Disneyland Resort vacation, we appreciated being able to pack more fun and magic into our day by utilizing the
Lightning Lane offered at select attractions. As a Disneyland Resort exclusive, Genie+ also includes complimentary downloads of all your
Disney PhotoPass photos taken on each day you have the Genie+ service.
Have a magical time, Derek!
