Hi there, Bryanna,
I love to use Disney Gift Cards for everything at Disney Parks. It’s my preferred way to purchase
theme park tickets, reserve and pay for
resort hotel stays, eat
delicious food, and acquire
souvenir keepsakes.
I ran into the very same question you have. When I first learned that
Disney Gift Card eGifts could be added to my phone’s mobile wallet, I was very excited to try it out. But what I found is that whether or not an eGift can be added to a mobile wallet depends on where the card was purchased. For example, Disney Gift Card eGifts
purchased from shopDisney can be added to a mobile wallet. The link to add the eGift to a mobile wallet is included in the eGift delivery email. But the Disney Gift Card eGifts purchased from the wholesale warehouse club I belong to do not have the ability to be linked to my mobile wallet. I found the same to be true of other third-party sellers as well.
Tony’s Tip: I loved the idea of using a Disney Gift Card using the convenience of Apple Pay on my phone. But I also love saving on our Disney Parks vacations by purchasing from stores that sell Disney Gift Cards at a discount to customers with a membership or store payment card, including discount warehouse clubs and retailers like
Target. So what I did was purchase a low-value card from
shopDisney and other, higher-value cards from other stores. I linked all the cards to my
account on the Disney Gift Card website. Then, I used the Disney Gift Card website to transfer funds to the eGift that I linked to Apple Wallet. As I use up the balance on the eGift, I can keep replenishing it with funds transferred from other cards, whether they are physical gift cards or eGifts.
Thanks for visiting us at planDisney, Bryanna. We’d be happy to help answer any more of your Disney Parks questions as you continue to get ready to enjoy a visit to "the world of yesterday, tomorrow and fantasy."
See ya real soon!
