Hey, Mary! What a sweet and thoroughly magical gift you are considering! My sister and I have visited Walt Disney World Resort together a few times and I have to say that they have been among my favorite trips. You have a few options when considering the
Disney Theme Park Tickets you will need to purchase for them. The easiest option for you will be to look at the interactive ticketing calendar, pick dates you think they may be able to go and price out the tickets. Then, purchase a
Disney Gift Card for them that they can use to purchase the tickets once they decide on travel dates.
If you would rather purchase actual tickets, then you may
pick any beginning date for the tickets, preferably as close to dates you think they may be able to visit. Then, once they decided on dates, they can
link the tickets to their My Disney Experience accounts and modify the dates.
Most tickets can easily be modified right in My Disney Experience online or in the My Disney Experience mobile app right up until their usage date. If they prefer, they can
call the Disney Reservation Center to modify the dates. Note that if they pick ticket dates that are lower priced than the ones you purchased, then they will not be able to receive a refund. Also, if they pick dates that are higher priced, then they will need to pay the difference.
There is also an option for Flexible Date Disney Theme Park Tickets. If you go to the interactive calendar and choose any start date for a 4-Day ticket, you will find a checkbox on the following screen for
Flexible Date Option. For an additional fee, you can make those tickets good for any date on or before December 31, 2020. In addition to this date flexibility, those tickets will not adhere to the
new valid usage guidelines and can instead be used at any time up to 14 days after their first use at the park.
I hope this information helps you plan for your magical gift! Thanks for stopping by to chat with us and please let us know if you have any other questions!
