Bright suns, Alexander! Thanks for bringing this very important question to planDisney!
From one crazy Star Wars fan to another, I must say that I LOVE the idea of proposing to your girlfriend during your visit to
Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge! It would be my honor to give you some advice on surprising the Princess Leia to your Han Solo with a proposal of galactic proportions.
As you and your girlfriend explore Black Spire Outpost, I recommend keeping your eyes open for the
Disney PhotoPass Service photographers. You can typically find a photographer stationed near the
Millennium Falcon, taking photos of Guests with the fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy in the background. Occasionally, I have seen a photographer right in front of the ship, but more often than not, you can find them near the entrance to
Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo. When you are looking at the Millennium Falcon, this spot is off to your left and up a small flight of stairs or a ramp. There is usually a photographer stationed there, in front of the railing overlooking the Millennium Falcon. In fact, last Valentine's Day, my husband and I had our picture taken in that spot, wearing our matching "I love you" and "I know" t-shirts.
Before you get in line to have your picture taken, perhaps you can find a way to excuse yourself from your girlfriend so that you can go and give the photographer a heads up. Even if you are unable to speak to the photographer before the big moment, they will have their camera ready and are sure to capture the moment when you get down on one knee in front of the ship that made the Kessel Run in less than 12 parsecs.
After she says yes, you can toast your engagement with some
blue milk or drinks at
Oga's Cantina. Be sure to purchase
Memory Maker so that you will have unlimited downloads of your proposal photos and all of your other Disney PhotoPass Service pictures from your magical
Walt Disney World Resort vacation. Also, don't forget to stop by any
Guest Relations location to pick up complimentary "I'm Celebrating" buttons. You never know what kind of magic you'll experience when Cast Members see you wearing your buttons!
Alexander, I wish you all the best! I hope one day you and your wife will be able to tell your grandchildren the story of how you got engaged a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away.
May the Force be with you!
Samantha
