Greetings from planDisney, Pele! You're absolutely right,
character dining is a quintessential Disney experience! There's nothing quite like sharing a meal and making memories with Mickey Mouse and his pals!
I'm with you on
Plaza Inn—it's such a treat to have a character dining experience right in the heart of Disneyland Park! That’s as magical as it gets! While it's a bit disappointing to hear that you haven't snagged a reservation just yet, don't worry! You've still got plenty of time to sprinkle some pixie dust and make it happen! With two months until your visit, time is on your side, and I’m here to help make sure you have the info you need to have a magical visit.
As you may know,
dining reservations at participating restaurants can be made up to 60 days in advance, and Plaza Inn, especially with its Minnie & Friends – Breakfast in the Park, is popular with families like yours! It sounds like those reservations may have been scooped up faster than a Dole Whip on a hot day! If you didn’t find available reservations at Plaza Inn for your party size, date, and time, it’s likely they’ve been completely booked. Just to make sure, Pele, I double-checked with a cast member who confirmed that the restaurant is scheduled to be open during your visit.
The good news is that dining reservations can open up like magic, often due to cancellations or changes in other guests’ plans. Just a few months ago, I managed to snag a last-minute reservation at
Lamplight Lounge, even just a couple of hours before the designated arrival time—it was like finding a hidden Mickey! With that said, here’s my best advice when trying to score a dining reservation: Check early and check often! Your best bet is to keep an eye on the
dining reservations page on the Disneyland website or use the Disneyland mobile app. Just tap the "plus" sign in the bottom menu and select "Check Dining Availability."
In the meantime, have you considered some of the other enchanting character dining experiences at the Disneyland Resort?
Goofy's Kitchen at the
Disneyland Hotel is a fun-filled feast with everyone's favorite goofball! And if you're looking for a touch of California charm,
Storytellers Cafe at
Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa is my personal favorite!
Sending you all the pixie dust I can in the hopes that you’ll score that dining reservation at Plaza Inn, Pele! Please don’t hesitate to drop by planDisney again if you have any questions about your upcoming trip! We’d love to help!
