Hello, Frances and welcome to planDisney. I'm so glad you've stopped by with your question!
I'm glad to see that you are about to make your
park pass reservations. Days can fill up quickly so the sooner the better in my opinion. To make park pass reservations, the first step is to head over to the park pass reservation website (linked for you). On the homepage, you'll see a button to "Make A Park Reservation" and you'll want to select that. You'll be prompted to sign in to your
MyDisneyExperience account and from there you'll be asked to select your travel party. After that, you'll choose a calendar date and the initial theme park you'd like to visit each day. With your park hopper pass, it is only required that you make a park pass reservation for the first theme park you plan on visiting each day. Once all of those options are selected, you will be taken to a confirmation page and have the option to make a park pass reservation for another day. You'll follow that same process for all of the days you have theme park tickets for. Once everything is set, you'll be able to see all of your reservations on your MyDisneyExperience.
Park hopping does look a little bit different since its return at the start of this year. Guests wishing to park hop must have standard theme park admission with the park hopper option - which you do. Then, you are required to make a park pass reservation for an initial theme park to visit each day. On that particular day, you'll need to scan in and enter the theme park with the park pass reservation. This sort of "activates" your hopper pass each day. You don't necessarily have to spend any time at that first park, but you do have to scan into it before continuing on to other theme parks. Park hopping hours now start at 2:00 p.m. and last until each park closes in the evenings. To make park hopping a little bit easier, complimentary park-to-park bus transportation is currently being provided.
I'm super excited about the all-new
Boo Bash that is coming to Magic Kingdom Park later this year. This is considered an after-hours event and will require an additional event ticket to enter. Your standard park tickets will not get you into the event and the event ticket won't get you into the park during the day. If you'd like to enjoy a night at the Boo Bash, what you'll need to do is purchase a special event ticket when they go on sale. This ticket will also get linked to your MyDisneyExperience account and will be good only on the night of the special event. Currently, I'm seeing that the special event ticket will get you into Magic Kingdom Park starting at 7:00 p.m. on the night of the event. If you plan on visiting one of the Walt Disney World Theme Parks during the day of the Boo Bash you will need to use a standard park ticket for that day. Then, in the evening to participate in the Boo Bash you will need to have a separate event ticket.
Frances, I hope this helps! If you have any other questions before your trip, please stop back by and
ask me. I'm happy to help.
Have fun!
