Greetings Sonja! Thank you so much for bringing your question to me here at planDisney.
I am so excited that you are taking your Princesses to visit the Walt Disney World Resort for the first time. They will have a magical time as they enjoy the World’s Most Magical Celebration. Whenever one of my extended family members is ready for their first trip, we celebrate the occasion by picking up a “1st Visit!” button from City Hall in the Magic Kingdom and taking a family photo in front of Cinderella Castle with a PhotoPass Photographer. Be sure to purchase a Memory Maker to capture all the magical smiles in front of the most iconic landmarks on the planet.
During the 50th Anniversary Celebration, you can also look for the
Disney Fab 50 Character Collection. There are 50 golden sculptures across all 4 theme parks with the 50 most loved Disney Characters from your favorite Disney movies. Find the statue of your Mouseketeer’s favorite character and let them pose for selfies. A socially distanced selfie with
Mickey Mouse at Town Square in the Magic Kingdom and Minnie Mouse at Red Carpet Dreams in Disney’s Hollywood Studios is a must.
If your padawans are strong with the force and seek adventure in a galaxy far, far away, then find transport to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Here they can join the fight against the First Order in Rise of the Resistance is an experience they will never forget. I would also suggest making a reservation to allow them to build a lightsaber at
Savi’s Workshop or a droid at
Droid Depot. Adventure awaits you in Pandora - The Land of Avatar in Disney’s Animal Kingdom. You Mouseketeers can explore the Valley of Mo’ara and the stunning floating mountains. Take a ride on a banshee over the beautiful moon’s landscape and test your skills. A visit to EPCOT will allow you to enjoy the
EPCOT International Flower and Garden Festival. The iconic topiaries will be in full bloom and there is fun for all ages when you explore the gardens and exhibits.
No vacation to the Walt Disney World Resort is complete without sampling a Mickey-shaped snack. It’s so hard to choose between ice cream bars, pretzels, waffles, cookies, and other scrumptious snacks because they are all so delicious. But save some room for a Character dining experience. Book a meal and let your Mouseketeers enjoy a socially distanced interaction with their favorite characters. Character dining reservations can be made 60 days in advance of your arrival in My Disney Experience.
The best way to end your day is with the spectacle of fireworks. Kids of all ages will enjoy Disney Enchantment created especially for the 50th Anniversary Celebration. This pyrotechnic spectacular is best viewed from Main Street U.S.A. You can also watch the world unite during EPCOT’s new nighttime show, Harmonious. You will be singing along with your favorite songs from Disney animated features. It’s a joyous celebration for the eyes and ears.
Lastly, speaking of ears, don’t forget to let your granddaughters pick out their favorite set of ears to enjoy at home to remember their first magical visit. I hope that helps with your planning. If you have any more questions feel free to ask me here at planDisney.
See ya real soon,
Andrea
