Hi - I am getting nervous and excited for my first Disney race next weekend! My question is re: the preordering of pictures. Is it worth it? Also, any last minute checklists for packing for my first race & navigating the e

    Hi Jessica!
Yes, you have every reason to be excited about your first runDisney race weekend and try not to be nervous because it really is an amazing experience in every way! Preordering of race photos through MarathonFoto is definitely worth it especially if it is your first runDisney race because it will save you money (up to 35%) and you are going to want keepsakes of your first runDisney race to cherish for years to come. There are always many MarathonFoto photographers at the beginning, throughout the race course, and at the finish so you should be able to get lots of great photos of you in your race. My best advice for packing is to bring exactly what you trained in, for race day including the clothes and sneakers that you ran with at home in training (try not to wear anything new). I pack a 2 gallon Ziploc bag with my race clothes for each day and I bring an extra pair of running shoes and comfortable shoes for walking after the race is done. Make sure that you have running clothes for hot or cold weather so that you can be ready for either type of weather on race day. If you are flying, then it is a good idea to pack your running clothes and shoes in your carry on so that you will have them with you should your checked in luggage get delayed. My advice for navigating the expo is to get there before it opens for that particular day or as early in the day as possible to pick up your race packet, bib, and shirts because it tends to get more crowded as the day goes on. Also spend a little time visiting the vendors, booths, and seminars at the Expo once you have picked up your race packet. Talk to other runners and enjoy every moment and I can guarantee that your first runDisney race will not be your last! Remember you can always ask me some more questions as you prepare for your first runDisney race!
I hope that every mile is truly magical on your first runDisney race during Marathon Weekend at Walt Disney World!
