Well ahoy there Elizabeth and welcome to planDisney!
Firstly, I'd like to say a huge congratulations on tying the knot in nautical style on your upcoming
Disney Cruise Line voyage! As a Disney Groom who also recently had a
Disney Wedding, I'm so excited for you to experience all of the magic that
Disney's Fairy Tale Weddings & Honeymoons team creates for fellow couples both on land and at sea!
According to the arrival date that you put down, it looks like you must be on the Disney Magic's
5-Night Silver Anniversary at Sea Bahamian Cruise from Miami with 2 Stops at Castaway Cay. It's so wonderful that you're thinking about your kids to make sure that they feel like they're a part of this blending of families during your wedding cruise and on your big day on
Disney Castaway Cay! I know my husband and I definitely had a similar question when it came down to what last name would show up on our in-room television so I spoke with a Cast Member from Disney's Fairytale Weddings & Honeymoons team to ask about it:
- Since you'll be embarking in just a few short days, it's a good idea ahead of time to reach out to your Shoreside Wedding Planner/Representative directly to make sure they're aware that this is something that is important to you. If you booked your voyage with a Travel Agent specializing in Disney Cruise Line Weddings, I recommend that you also let them know; together these folks may be able to make a note on your reservation and see what they can do on their end before you board.
- However when it comes to any of the ships in the fleet, your best bet is almost always to confirm and make sure you find the Crew Members who have the ability to make things happen as soon as you embark - I would recommend heading to speak with the Guest Services Desk so that they could place a request to have your name updated on your stateroom television. (They also let me know that requests may not be guaranteed as the names are auto-populated directly from what's officially on your reservation.) Once you have your initial meeting with your onboard Wedding Coordinator, it would also be a good idea to let them know how important it is for you and to have them follow up.
As for the rest of the cruise, I highly recommend taking every opportunity to reward yourself for making the trek to sail the seas with all of the wedding attire that you're bringing by wearing it all over the place while you can, especially to your
included dinner at Palo! There are some incredible spots up on deck near the ship's funnels and be sure to take advantage of the dedicated transportation that you'll have to and from
the beach at Disney Castaway Cay for some gorgeous moments. I hope you have the most magical time ever as you step into those shoes to head down the aisle to officially become a DisBride and bring the family together on such a special moment in your lives. Please
come back to planDisney again for any more advice, tips and tricks when you venture to other Disney Destinations around the world with your true love!
Wishing you the best as you sail off into your Happily Ever After!
