Hi. I am getting a magic kingdom ticket for September 27th. Is there an option to buy a special event ticket while still in the park the day of for mickeys not so scary Halloween party? I have tried to get the special event ticket but they are sold out.

    Welcome to planDisney, Bella!

Thanks for stopping by with this question about your upcoming Walt Disney World visit. Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is one of my favorite special events at the Magic Kingdom, so I totally understand your ticket hunt. During this separately ticketed event, party guests get to trick-or-treat throughout Magic Kingdom, they can wear Halloween costumes to celebrate the occasion (yes, even adults), try special themed treats, and experience some of the best not-so-spooky entertainment like Mickey’s Boo-To-You Halloween Parade, the Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular and more. There will even be Halloween overlays on some of your favorite attractions, making the party a super fun way to enjoy the frightful season.

Bella, tickets for this and other special events at Walt Disney World are usually limited. Capacity is typically much lower for these experiences, and tickets are non-refundable. This means that the likelihood of tickets being available after an event sells out is extremely low. However, I have been in your shoes before and at one point was desperately seeking tickets for Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party last year for a few additional family members who wanted to join me. Cast Members informed me that while they couldn’t guarantee that these methods would be successful, they’d rarely heard that some guests happened upon a ticket or two after calling the Tickets and Hotel Reservations line daily and/or stopping by Guest Relations on the day of the party to inquire as to whether there were any available tickets. I’ll be honest with you, Bella… neither of these methods worked for me, and my family members missed out that year. I definitely learned to buy special event tickets early whenever we planned to attend them.

It never hurts to try, though! So give the ticket line a call daily to check, and stop by Guest Relations if you’ll be nearby on the party date you’re hoping to attend. There’s no guarantee, but you never know! I hope your party ticket quest is successful. Good luck! If you have any additional questions about planning your visit, come see us again here at planDisney. Until then, TTFN… ta-ta for now!
