Hi. Getting excited about our first Disney Cruise. Though as regular visitors to WDW, we're baffled by the fact that if you take advantage of DCL's resort add-on before or after your cruise, you are ineligible for a Disney Dining Plan. Why not? Bizarre.

    Hi Michael,

I can see why you're excited!  Going on your first Disney cruise is certainly cause for celebration and great anticipation.  I hope you have the most magical voyage ever!

I can understand your frustration regarding the inability to add a Disney Dining Plan to the land portion of your vacation.  I, too, am a big fan of the Disney Dining Plan.  Have you considered re-booking your vacation as two separate components?  That's what we did when we sailed on the Disney Dream in March.  We spent one day at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge before our cruise and six days at Disney's Beach Club Villas after our cruise.  We were able to add the Disney Dining Plan to our post-cruise stay.  If there is time before your cruise sails, I would consider calling your favorite travel agent to see if booking the land portion of your trip separately might open up the option of adding the Disney Dining Plan.

Wishing your family a vacation sprinkled with extra pixie dust!
