I am getting everything together for our trip in just a week and a half. We have 3 adults and one infant. Is $1000 for food realistic for five days? We can't do the dining plan because we booked the room at a discounted rate.

Hi, Marlana!   On a trip we took in June, I had my husband keep track of how much we spent on meals for our family of four (2 adults, 2 kids.)    Our usual day was a quick breakfast at our food court, one table service meal, one quick service meal and a snack or 2 each day per person.   On average, we spent between $150 - $175 per day total for our family.    This did not include any fancy desserts or alcoholic beverages, so you might want to add a bit more if you enjoy drinks or desserts with your meals.

With a budget of $200 per day, you should be just fine.   If you have some specific restaurants you are planning to visit, you can go to www.allears.net and click on DINING and select your restaurants.  Each restaurant is listed with menus and pricing so you can get an idea of what you will be spending.

Hope you have a great trip to WDW!

Meet the Panelist: Cathy, Ohio

Hi, I'm Cathy from Cleveland. I love to travel, especially in the winter to escape the snow and cold of Ohio! My husband and 2 kids share my enthusiasm for travel, so we enjoy our adventures together whether it is hiking at a National Park, sailing on a Disney Cruise Ship, or going to Walt Disney World which is our home away from home. My husband proposed to me in front of Cinderella Castle and we have not stopped visiting ever since! It's a blast helping guests here at planDisney!
