We are Geocachers and are hoping to grab a few while on our Disney vacation. Do you know if there are actually any caches in the parks or resorts, and if so, which ones? We aren't sure what to search on the GC site to get caches that are right on Disney.

    Hello Sara!

Geocaching has been one of the things on my bucket list. I used to have an Etrex Legend that I would use all the time for various reasons but never got into Geocaching. Maybe, I'll pick it up on my next trip to Walt Disney World.

The Sport of Geocaching is not too old, but at Walt Disney World they have been practicing it for YEARS! Well, it's a form of Caching. The cache is Hidden Mickeys and they are all over the parks and resorts. When designers were first working on the parks they would hide Mickey symbols in some of the architecture, artwork, and rides. It was a form of putting their stamp on the design. As years passed more and more of the Hidden Mickey's were added. Now, there are so many, that books are written on how to find them. One of the best guides is the Hidden Mickey Guide by Steven M. Barrett. It's a very fun way to go around Walt Disney World and adds so much to your trips.

Just to make sure, I did check the Geocaching website and found a lot of caches around Walt Disney World. So, you could also try to find those as well. The caches are not by Disney and do not have anything to do with the company.

Thanks so much for the question! I hope you have a wonderful trip!
