Welcome to planDisney, Scott! I bet you're so excited about your upcoming trip to Walt Disney World Resort.
Disney Genie+ service is one of my favorite ways to save time when I'm on vacation, and I'm happy to walk you through exactly how it works in the scenario you're describing.
When your travel party is using Disney Genie+ service, it is certainly possible to split up your group and make
Lightning Lane selections for different attractions. It won't matter if your return times differ, since the 120-minute rule is based on the time you make a selection, not the time you ride. For example, if at 9:00 a.m. half of your group gets an 11:00 a.m. return time for
The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror and the other half of your group gets an 11:30 a.m. return time for
Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway, everyone in the group can make a second Lightning Lane selection at 11:00 a.m. regardless of their return time because the 120-minute clock starts at the booking time, which was 9:00 a.m. for everyone.
I have two great tips to make this process a little easier when you're managing a large group and making different selections! Firstly, the "Tip Board" page of the
My Disney Experience app will display all of the available Lightning Lane return times, and there will also be a header at the top of the page that will show you when you can book your next attraction. My second tip: set an alarm on your phone for a few minutes before this time so you're prepared as soon as your window opens! This will help you maximize the number of Lightning Lane return times you can get in one day.
I hope this answers your question, Scott, and please let us know if there's anything else we can do to help you plan your magical vacation!
