Hey there, Angela, and welcome back to planDisney! Thanks for stopping by the panel with your question. It’s fantastic to have you here gathering data on how to master the new Genie+ Service. I felt like I had just mastered the FastPass+ offering when it was revamped. I’ve definitely refined my Genie+ approach since my first visit, but it’s far from mastery at this point! I think I need to plan another trip solely for “research.”
Unfortunately, I am not aware of an official release from Walt Disney World explaining how the
Genie+ return times are released. Walt Disney World is holding tight to those trade secrets! In my experience, the return times have always appeared to release in consecutive order. For example, when the Genie+ reservations open at 7 a.m. EST, I usually see the soonest available time released. Of course, extremely popular attractions, like
Slinky Dog Dash, may appear to jump around because the return times are filling up so quickly. And as you get deeper into the day, Guests are changing plans and potentially releasing their reservations for re-booking. I know my family scrapped afternoon plans a time or two after determining that the kids were done for the day. This is usually when you see random times drop into the availability! My suggestion in those cases is to secure that better time as quickly as possible! Fast fingers pay off when navigating the Genie+ system.
I hope this helps, Angela! If you have more questions while planning your Disney Vacation,
stop back by and let me know!
