How does Genie Plus work in a group which might split? If I booked a genie+ lightning lane for me and my eldest, can my wife book a Genie+ lane to take my youngest elsewhere at the same time? Or do they have to wait until we have rode?

Hi Richard. Thank you for bringing your question to us here at planDisney.

Disney Genie+ is such a useful service. Each day that you purchase the service, you get to reserve your first Lightning Lane from the comfort of your hotel room (or wherever you are) at 7 a.m. EST. Then, you can reserve one attraction at a time once you've redeemed that reservation. Personally, I also like to take advantage of Individual Lighting Lanes for the most popular rides at the resort as well. This way, I'm reserving Lightning Lanes for most of the attractions I want to experience and I get to skip the main standby lines for a shorter wait time. And then if I also take advantage of Virtual Queues, I find that I'm golden!

As long as your family is all connected through your My Disney Experience account, both you and your wife have the My Disney Experience mobile app on your mobile devices, and you have purchased the service for each member of your family, both of you will be able to book Lightning Lane reservations in any configuration you'd like. When you go to make your reservations, you will select the "Book Experience" button under the attraction you'd like to experience on the Tip Board, and then you will select the members of your party that want to go on the ride. It's that easy. You do not have to experience the rides together when using Disney Genie+.

Richard, let me give you a bit of advice. If you'd like to experience the brand-new rollercoaster TRON Lightcycle / Run at Magic Kingdom Park, I highly recommend you secure a Boarding Group through the Virtual Queue and purchase an Individual Lightning Lane. This way, you get to ride the attraction twice and with an Individual Lightning Lane, you get to choose the time you'd like to ride (subject to availability). And that brings me to my next point: when you're given the choice, select a time at night if available. That canopy is beautiful and it's a whole different experience! Be sure to check out the planDisney Official Guide to Navigating the Grid at TRON Lightcycle / Run to prepare yourself for this epic adventure. And if you love it as much as I do, you'll probably want to make a reservation for the TRON Identity Program at the Tomorrowland Launch Depot where you can make an action figure in your likeness and your voice!

I hope you have a magical vacation. If you have any other questions, please reach out again.
