Hey Howdy Hey Lisbet and welcome to planDisney!
Thank you so much for stopping by with your question about
Genie+ and Lightning Lane access with larger parties. I will be happy to give you a little more insight into the process to better prepare for your upcoming trip.
One of the big questions to answer involves how all 11 in your group will access the parks during your trip. There are several ways to access your tickets which will also impact accessibility with Lightning Lane Entry selections. MagicBands and MagicBand+ are two ways that everyone in the party can access their tickets. If you have little ones and you are still managing their plans for them, you can still set things up for them and they can use their MagicBands or Disney's MagicMobile Service on your smart device to access their information. But yes, with the little ones, you will have to scan as many passes on your smart device as MagicMobile Passes are made.
With teens or adults that have smart devices, they can have their own
My Disney Experience accounts and
My Disney Experience app on their smart devices to manage things on their own. Not to worry though, as long as you all share plans, you can be the one doing all the planning and they just have to show up! They can also have their own MagicBands, MagicBand+ or MagicMobile pass linked to their account so they can tap into the attractions for their Lightning Lane Entry redemption.
Taking a step back, let's talk a bit about MagicBands, MagicBand+ and MagicMobile passes. MagicBands and MagicBand+ are two bracelets you have the option to buy before or during your trip that will connect to your account and give you access to everything from Lightning Lane Entries, theme park tickets, unlocking the door to your Disney Resorts Collection hotel as well as having a credit card linked to them for charging privileges. Don't worry though, you can select which members of the party have charging privileges to your account! You can still purchase
MagicBands on ShopDisney which are the older version but still very useful in the parks.
MagicBand+ is the newer version that can be recharged and allow you to experience the parks in new ways. You can interact with statues in the parks, become part of the story in places as well as be part of the nighttime celebration in each park.
Disney MagicMobile Service passes can be set up for free through your My Disney Experience app. Once set up, you can link them to your Apple Pay or Google wallet and can be used to tap into the parks for theme park tickets and Lightning Lane Entries.
So there are a few options for you so you won't have to be the one tapping or phone to the entry points to redeem your Lightning Lane Entry selections. I hope this helped to give you a little more insight and options, but please feel free to reach back out with any further questions you may have, we are always happy to help!
Have a Magical Day,
Nick
