We have Genie+ and want to use the LL a la carte option to maximize the rides we go on. We plan on doing MK and HS our first day. Can we make our Genie+ reservation at 7AM and then our a la carte purchases at 9AM to buy 2 lightning lanes for 2 diff rides?

    Aloha, Alex.

Welcome to planDisney! I'm excited to hEAR you're planning a trip to The Most Magical Place on Earth. There's so much to look forward to in 2022, like the opening of new attractions, the 50th Anniversary Celebration festivities, and the launch of MagicBand+.

Disney Genie+ service and Individual Lightning Lanes are two of the newest offerings at Walt Disney World Resort. They allow you to customize your vacationing experience by essentially saving your place in line while you enjoy other attractions and experiences. I've had the opportunity to use both several times since they launched and really feel like they allowed me to maximize my time.

Disney Genie+ service allows you to book Lightning Lane selections at more than 40 attractions and experiences across all four theme parks for a small cost per person per day. You can utilize a Disney Genie+ Lightning Lane entrance once per day and can book as many of the 40 attractions as possible throughout the day. All Guests are able to purchase this service starting at 12:00 a.m. midnight via the Tip Board in their My Disney Experience App. Then, starting at 7:00 a.m., Guests may book their first Lightning Lane selection. You can continue to book additional selections every two hours (starting at the park opening time) or after you've redeemed your initial selection, whichever comes first.

Disney Resorts Collection hotel Guests may purchase Individual Lighting Lane selections starting at 7:00 a.m. on the morning of use. All other Guests must wait until the official park opening time to purchase Individual Lightning Lanes. You can purchase up to two Individual Lighting Lane selections per person per day. There are two attractions at each of the four theme parks with Individual Lightning Lane entrances.

If you are staying at a Disney Resort hotel, you will be able to make your first Genie+ Lightning Lane selection AND purchase Individual Lightning Lanes starting at 7:00 a.m. If, however, you are not staying at a Disney Resort hotel, you will only be able to make your first Genie+ service Lightning Lane selection at 7:00 a.m. and would need to wait until the park opening time to purchase Individual Lightning Lanes.

Alex, I hope this answer provided some clarity. Please stop back by planDisney if you have further questions. We'd be happy to help!

    You are the magic,
