Hi Jennifer,
Welcome back to planDisney and thank you for asking us a great question!
I was asking myself something similar when I visited Walt Disney World Resort after the
Disney Genie service was first launched. I’ve played with the system a fair bit now and I can absolutely confirm that, if you’re staying in a
Disney Resorts Collection hotel, you can absolutely book an individual
Lightning Lane entry for attractions that aren’t offered through the
Disney Genie+ service AND make your selection for your first Lightning Lane entrance that is offered through the service, both at 7 am on the day of your visit.
Here’s what I would recommend as a strategy in your case. Purchase Disney Genie+ Service for you and your party when you first wake up, ideally before 7 AM, to make sure that it’s active and available to use right away, the moment your booking window opens. Then, at 7 am, I’d book your individual Lightning Lane entrance for
Seven Dwarfs Mine Train first, as the available times may start to get more limited as the minutes tick by.
Once that’s confirmed, then I would go and make your first Disney Genie+ Lightning Lane entry for
Peter Pan’s Flight, picking the next time that is available to you. Don’t forget that, if the return time that you’re offered doesn’t quite work with your plans, you can always try to modify it later in your Disney Day. Because flying high with Peter Pan and his friends is such a popular attraction, I’d recommend grabbing whatever you can at 7 am and then checking back periodically to see whether you can change your selection to a time that works better for you and your family.
I hope my answer helps you plan the perfect day at Magic Kingdom Park for you and your little ones. Please don’t hesitate to come back and see us if you have any other questions. We’re always here to help!
Have a Magical Day,
Lynne
