Does Genie+ or Lightning Lane mean you just walk on or is it just a slightly shorter wait?

    Alicia,

Thanks for asking your question to planDisney!

I just got back from the parks and I got to try out the Lightning Lanes first hand. While I did not necessarily walk on to the attractions, I definitely saved myself over an hour of wait time in most cases. Basically, the Lightning Lane shot me up to near the front of the line. For a specific example, from the moment that I entered the Lightning Lane for Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railway it was maybe 10 minutes before I was on the ride. As a comparison, the standby line was posted at 70 minutes.

So, I would describe it as a significantly shorter wait. If you have been to Walt Disney World in the past, it is very comparable to the FastPass experience. I definitely learned enough about the roles that both Disney Genie+ and the Individual Lightning Lanes play in a park day so that I now know when I would use either or both.

    BONUS TIP
In all this we neglected to mention the free Disney Genie service that is now incorporated into the My Disney Experience App. I am in love with the Mobile Online Ordering feature that helped me skip the lines at the counter service restaurants! I ordered lunch ahead of time from across the park. I got in one more ride and then had lunch waiting for me when I arrived. So convenient!

Write me back if you have any other questions.

    Have a Magical Vacation!
