Hi Vikki!
Welcome back! Your question is a great one. For many years we have rented a wheelchair for our special needs son at Walt Disney World. At
Disney's Art of Animation Resort, the bus stop is located just at the front of the hotel so it is very convenient. But, like you, I was always concerned about the walk from our room to the
Disney Busses and likewise from the spot where the bus drops us off at the Parks to the entrance. And then we discovered a list of Disney's Featured Providers on the
Wheelchair Rental page of the Walt Disney World website and we were hooked. This is a
list of private companies in the Orlando area who provide wheelchair rental. If you schedule it before your arrival, they will deliver it right to your hotel (ours has always been waiting for us when we arrive) and pick it back up when you return home. It has sure made the whole process simple and extremely convenient for us. And because my family likes to hop from Park to Park, having a wheelchair we don't have to turn in when we leave each Park makes life a whole lot easier too. All in all, I would wholeheartedly recommend these companies to you. We have used all of them on the list--they are fantastic!
Thanks for stopping by. We at the Disney Parks Moms Panel love to sprinkle a little extra Pixie Dust on Guest's magical
Walt Disney World vacations whenever possible so please let us know if we can do anything else.
Have a super duper day and a wonderful Walt Disney World visit!
