Ahoy there, Carrie! Thank you for sailing by planDisney with your question. The age groups for the youth activity spaces on Disney Cruise Line are set for the safety of young Guests. Your kids will be able to go to the same space together during Open House hours, since one can go to
Edge and the other can go to
Oceaneer Club or
Lab. You will find the Open House hours in the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator app once you are onboard.
There will be other
onboard activities for them to participate in together as well. There will be family trivia and craft sessions. They can go see first-run movies together. Consider the Navigator app as your treasure map to all of the magic Disney Cruise Line has to offer.
This may not be what you wanted to hear, Carrie, but I hope it helps you prepare them for your upcoming sailing. I hope they will give the Oceaneer Club or Lab and Edge a chance. They may meet some new friends! If your 9 year old wants to leave, the youth counselors in Oceaneer Club or Lab will give you a call in your stateroom or contact you via the Navigator app to come pick him or her up. Tweens can check themselves in and out of Edge.
If you have any other questions,
planDisney is here to help. Come back to see us anytime.
Sending pixie dust your way,
