Hi Diane, welcome to planDisney!
You're going to
fall in love with Walt Disney World Resort in November. An early November visit means you'll actually get a double dose of magical seasons. The
EPCOT International Food and Wine Festival lasts through November 19 and I encourage you to check out the planDisney panelists'
top tips for experiencing this Guest-favorite event. You'll also be able to see the first holiday decorations appear throughout the parks and resorts. Last year, my husband and I witnessed Cast Members laying the groundwork for the life-size gingerbread house at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and Spa just after midnight on November 1. When my family returned to Magic Kingdom Park the next day, our walk down Main Street, U.S.A., was lined with ornamented garland, poinsettias, and holiday magic. Can you imagine that?!
In addition to seasonal magic times two, November is my family's preferred time of year to visit Walt Disney World Resort because of the typically moderate temperatures. In my experience, high temperatures are usually in the seventies and eighties and lows are in the sixties and seventies. I've only experienced the high heat of Florida summers in November once over a dozen years ago and I've experienced more jeans and sweatshirt temperatures in March than in November. A glance through my family's Disney scrapbook confirms we've been comfortable in short sleeves and shorts for each of our November visits. If we're taking advantage of
early theme park entry or staying until the fireworks, I'll check the forecast and put sweatshirts in my park bag, if need be.
Pool time in November gets an enthusiastic, "Yes!!" Even if you're interested in swimming in cooler temperatures, I'm pleased to share that all Disney Resorts Collection hotel pools are heated year-round to a comfortable 82 degrees. Pool-side picnics are a must-do on my family's pool days. For added convenience, you can use your
My Disney Experience mobile app to place a
mobile food and beverage order from your resort's
quick-service restaurant.
A Disney vacation countdown really gets exciting when your arrival day appears in the 10-day forecast. Since historical weather trends are, well, historical, I recommend letting the forecast be your packing guide. The best Disney souvenEARS are the ones you aren't forced to purchase because you're too hot/cold/wet/etc.
I hope you have a vacation full of sunshine, Diane. Please return to planDisney with any other thoughtful questions.
Choose magic,
Jennifer
