Hi there, Bill, and welcome to planDisney.
Your trip to Walt Disney World Resort is right around the corner, and you are going to love exploring all that the parks have to offer. Each park is filled with incredible themed lands that transport you into entirely different worlds. In Magic Kingdom Park, Adventureland is a must-see with its iconic Jungle Cruise and Pirates of the Caribbean. EPCOT’s World Showcase is one of my favorites because you can immerse yourself in the culture and cuisine of 11 different countries in just one day. At Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park, Pandora – The World of Avatar is absolutely amazing, especially when you soar over the Valley of Mo’ara on Avatar Flight of Passage. Over at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Toy Story Land is full of bright colors and whimsical fun that makes you feel like you’ve stepped into Andy’s backyard.
But for Star Wars fans like you,
Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is a dream come true. This land transports you from Orlando to the planet Batuu, where you can craft a lightsaber at
Savi’s Workshop, customize your very own droid at
Droid Depot, pilot the Millennium Falcon, and even join the Resistance in a battle against the First Order. While the land itself is incredibly popular, it is part of Disney’s Hollywood Studios and does not require its own reservation. In fact, individual lands within parks do not reach capacity on their own. Hollywood Studios may fill during the busiest holidays, such as Christmas or Thanksgiving, but it is very rare, so you should have no trouble exploring Batuu.
Since you mentioned having general
admission tickets, you’ll be glad to know that Walt Disney World no longer requires separate theme park reservations for standard date-based tickets. If you purchased a 1-Day, 1-Park ticket, your admission already acts as a reservation for that park. If you opted for a Park Hopper ticket, you’ll be able to move between parks without an additional reservation.
My best tip is to “rope drop” Hollywood Studios, which means arriving at the park before official opening hours so you can be among the first Guests to enter. If you are staying at a Disney Resorts Collection hotel, you’ll enjoy
Early Theme Park Entry and can step inside 30 minutes before other Guests. For a 9 a.m. park opening, I’d suggest arriving around 8 a.m. to queue. This will set you up for success and give you a head start on all the action in Galaxy’s Edge.
To make your day even smoother, consider purchasing the
Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Lightning Lane Single Pass options. These will help you spend less time waiting in line for attractions like Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance and Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run, giving you more time to explore and enjoy a Blue or Green Milk.
Bill, your adventure in a galaxy far, far away is going to be unforgettable. If more questions pop up as you plan your trip,

May the Force be with you!
