Do you have to have a general admission ticket in addition to your special ticket event ticket or can you just purchase the ticket for the event and just attend the event?

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Shallyn!

It's wonderful to hEAR you are planning to attend special ticketed events, such as Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party and Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party.

I have some magical news for you! To attend the special parties at Magic Kingdom Park, all you will need to do is purchase tickets for the event. In other words, regular park admission tickets are not necessary to access these parties, only the special event tickets.

On party nights, Magic Kingdom Park closes to regular-ticket holders at 7:00 p.m. Then, Cast Members begin to check if Guests walking around the theme park are wearing wristbands for the special event. If not, then they are given the option to purchase tickets for the party, or are graciously escorted to the park's exit.

On event nights, such as Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party for instance, my family and I typically spend the day relaxing at our beautiful Walt Disney World Resort hotel. We generally don't visit any of the theme parks before the start of the event. That way, we can assign those extra theme park admission entitlements to another day at the parks. This strategy also gives us plenty of time to get dressed in some fun costumes before heading to the party.

I hope you found this information useful, Shallyn. Please come back soon with more Disney vacation planning questions.

Wishing you a magical visit to Walt Disney World Resort!
