Hi, Diana!
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, and congratulations on your pregnancy! I am so glad you asked this question. When I was pregnant with my second child, I created my pregnancy and gender announcement photos at the Disneyland Resort and it was a great way to share the good news with family and friends while incorporating the Happiest Place on Earth!
Many expectant moms plan a visit to the theme parks for the perfect photo opportunity with favorite characters. You could make a small sign or bring along a prop (like pink or blue baby booties) for your family or Mickey Mouse to hold. When I was pregnant, I ordered a special shirt for my son that indicated he would be a big brother. I’m sure a
Disney PhotoPass photographer would be happy to take a couple minutes to help you get the shots you want.
If you’d rather do something that doesn’t involve a character, here are a few more ideas. To announce my second baby, I took a few different pictures in Disneyland Park to post on social media. I purchased a Mickey ear hat embroidered with “Baby #2” to use as a photo prop along with the wording “we’re expecting a new set of ears,” and it also made a special souvenir that’s now displayed in my daughter’s room. I have another fun photo of my son wearing a custom t-shirt that read “Only Child Expiring August 2015” in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle. When I found out I was having a girl, I bought a pink Mickey ear hat to be embroidered. You could have one in the color of your choice embroidered with your little one’s name to use in photos, too!
I hope these suggestions give you ideas for your own pixie-dusted gender reveal announcement, Diana. Please stop by again any other questions you have about exploring the theme parks while pregnant!
Wishing you magic,
Courtney
