G'day! My family will be visiting from Australia September 14th to September 26th. Our girls will both be having their birthdays while we are there, 11 on the 21st and 8 on the 25th. Is there anything special that you can suggest for their big days?

    Hi Sarah,

Wow, what a wonderful trip you are taking! How lovely that you will be able to celebrate both of your daughters' birthdays while you are at Walt Disney World.

Since you will be there on the actual dates of each birthday, I think that giving each girl her own unique day to celebrate would be wonderful. Perhaps you can allow each daughter on her birthday to pick the theme park that you will visit, or other activity for the day. Each could pick a restaurant that they think would be great for a birthday meal. When they do, be sure to make a reservation and indicate on the reservation that you are celebrating a birthday. Then remind the cast member when you check in for the meal. Although no guarantee of special treatment is made, you never know what extras might pop up!

On their actual birthdays, I recommend that you get each girl the birthday button. These are available for free at each theme park at Guest Relations. No special treatment is guaranteed when you wear the birthday button; however, a little extra magic may pop up here and there.  My daughter received a birthday cupcake at the Plaza Restaurant in Magic Kingdom Park when wearing the birthday button on her seventh birthday! Even if nothing like this happens, it is truly magical when you hear cast members and other guests wish your daughters happy birthday all day long.

Finally, if you would like some additional extra magic, call the Disney Cake Hotline at 407-827-2253. If you visit disneyfoodblog.com and search for "cake hotline," there is great information on how you can order a cake for delivery. We had a Minnie Mouse-shaped cake delivered to our resort room for our daughter's birthday. It was delicious!

I hope that this helps to give you some ideas for making your daughters' birthdays special at Walt Disney World, Sarah. Please do not hesitate to ask if you have any further questions!
