had gastric bipass & can only eat 3 ounces of food We have a dining plan Can I save my TS credits & just order a salad/soup & pay out of pocket for it at dinner while my family uses their TS Credits? Or does everyone have to use TS at each meal

    Hello Lisa!
I know exactly what you mean in your question because it seems like all of the adult meals in Walt Disney World are so huge! I had Bariatric Surgery (a Gastric Bypass) in October of 2011 and have been to Walt Disney World many times since then. I have eaten at many restaurants in Walt Disney World during those trips. Yes, you can pay out of pocket for just a salad or soup instead of using your Disney Dining Plan Credits just tell your server that you wish to do this. Also another option for you may be to order off the children's menu (typically smaller meals).  An adult can order a children's meal if they want typically without a problem. You may have to explain your particular situation at some restaurants because it is up to the particular restaurants if they let adults order from the children's menu (I have only found only a couple of restaurants in Walt Disney World that would not let an adult order from the children's menu). Another option for you would be to order a senior portion of a meal if they offer this or ask for a smaller portion of meat and any foods that you know that you can eat without any difficulties. I typically will order just the meat (like grilled chicken breast) without the bun and then any vegetables or fruit that I want for my meal and I skip ordering dessert. For buffet meals, you still would have to pay the adult meal price or use your Disney Dining Credits, but then you can pick and choose what items that you want to eat from the buffet.  I have found that Disney is typically extremely accommodating for dining special needs or requests so you should be fine sticking to your Bariatric diet. I hope that your next Walt Disney World vacation is truly magical in every way!
