Hi there, Peter! Thanks for stopping by planDisney with your question about Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort.
Peter,
Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground is one of my family's favorite places to stay on a Walt Disney World vacation. In fact, we stay there each year over Christmas and it is just so much fun! Guests are able to bring in their private golf carts to use around the resort and can be either gas or electric. However, they must adhere to the rules put in place at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort.
Golf Carts at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort:
- must not exceed 20mph
- must be equipped with proper headlights and tail lights
- ATV's, Off-Road Vehicles and Ulitilty or Construction carts are not allowed - they must be true golf carts
- Children are not allowed to operate golf carts
When you arrive, you'll have a detailed sheet in your welcome packet talking about golf cart safety while at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground. But for the most part, it's just common sense rules that are applied.
While at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort, I hope you'll take your golf cart over to
P & J's Southern Takeout one night for dinner. It's one of our go-to's when we stay there. My favorite
menu item is the chicken and rib dinner. It's an 8-piece chicken dinner with a full slab of finger-lickin' BBQ ribs. Then, you'll get 4 delicious sides like macaroni and cheese, mashed potatoes, baked beans and coleslaw with a full loaf of cornbread. This meal rings up at under $45 dollars and feeds 4-5 people. I've fed 5 people comfortably with this meal and had leftovers to take back with me. It's an incredible value!
I hope this helps, Peter. If you have any other questions, please feel free to stop back by and
ask me. I'm here to help!
Have fun!
