Hi Shannon,
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, and thank you for your question. Walt Disney’s love of trains is legendary, and there are so many fun train-related experiences around the park that are sure to delight train-lovers of all ages.
Shannon, my family loves the miniature garden railroad installation at Epcot, and I am happy to confirm that it was there on my recent visit. We were enchanted by the miniature Flower & Garden Festival that had been installed in the train village; those tiny details are just pure magic. I haven’t heard any plans to remove the garden railroad, as it is beloved by so many guests. After we take our time wandering the railroad and miniature village, my family heads straight to Karamell-Küche in the Germany Pavilion for the world’s most delicious caramel apples and caramel popcorn.
There are lots of train-tastic experiences around Walt Disney World. Be sure to ride the
Walt Disney World Railroad, take a trip on Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, and get wet and wild at the Casey Jr. Splash ‘N’ Soak Station (pro tip: bring a change of clothes for after splashing). The
Wildlife Express Train at Disney’s Animal Kingdom is a wonderful experience, and one that many guests overlook.
Did you know there is a magical spot at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge that features some amazing train memorabilia from Walt’s own collection? The Carolwood Pacific Room is a beautiful tribute to Walt Disney’s love of trains, and showcases some true treasures. I highly recommend a visit, perhaps before a meal at the fun and delicious Whispering Canyon Café.
Wishing you a magical vacation,
Robyn
