Hi there, Simon!
Welcome to planDisney and thanks so much for stopping by with your
Disneyland Resort vacation planning question.
Oh boy! I'm so excited to hear that you're planning a very special visit to The Happiest Place on Earth. Simon, we're delighted you've stopped by planDisney for suggestions for an extra-memorable trip. I'd be honored to provide you with some personalized recommendations!
Will you be spending time at Disneyland Park, Disney California Adventure Park, or both theme parks, Simon? Either way, a Guest's "First Visit" to the Disneyland Resort is a monumental occasion, so first, be sure to stop by
Guest Relations in either theme park to request a complimentary celebration button to commemorate your visit. If you only have the opportunity to visit one theme park, I recommend Disneyland Park, as it provides Guests with the quintessential Disney Parks experience. There, I encourage you to spend some time on
Main Street, U.S.A. exploring the shops and storefronts (with a churro in hand, if possible!). Disneyland Park was Walt Disney's vision and legacy, so it's always a special experience to spend time in those areas of the park that have remained unchanged since Walt's lifetime.
Simon, during your time in Disneyland Park, be sure to explore both the "new" and "nostalgic." I recommend riding classic, fan-favorite Disneyland Park attractions like
Pirates of the Caribbean,
Haunted Mansion, and
"it's a small world." (You know, those attractions that Guests imagine when they think "Disneyland!") It also sounds like you might be a
Star Wars fan, in which case I definitely encourage you to leave time for
Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge in Disneyland Park. Be on the lookout, though, because you never know who you might run into on Batuu... At the end of your day at Disneyland Park, I recommend watching the fireworks from Main Street, U.S.A.
If you're a thrill-seeker, you won't want to miss Disney California Adventure Park, Simon! There, you'll find exciting attractions like
Guardians of the Galaxy - Mission: BREAKOUT!,
Radiator Springs Racers, and
Incredicoaster. During your time in this theme park, be sure to grab iconic snacks from
Jack-Jack Cookie Num Nums or the
Cozy Cone Motel. If you'll be visiting during the Disney100 Celebration at Disneyland Resort, you can cap off your magical day by viewing World of Color - ONE!
Simon, I hope you've found these suggestions helpful. Please return to
planDisney again soon with any additional planning questions you may have! We're here to help you plan a Disneyland Resort vacation filled with enchantment and wonder.
Warm wishes,
Lauren
