Couple out enjoying nightlife

    My future son in law is planning to propose to my daughter while they are in Orlando. They are going for my daughter's 21st bday and plan on visiting Epcot for the food festival and Disney Springs, and this is a surprise. Any ideas? t

    Hi there Linda, I'd like to wish you a warm welcome to planDisney!

    I'm thrilled to answer your question as someone who planned an epic surprise proposal, got engaged at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa and later tied the knot with the help of Disney's Fairy Tale Weddings & Honeymoons team! In fact, with the days leading up to when your daughter gets engaged at the Most Magical Place on Earth and is well on the way to becoming an official DisBride, I'm happy to lend my best suggestions and ideas for this surprise proposal:

    • More than ever, couples want to be able to immortalize and share their proposal photos with their loved ones - especially at a beautiful place like Walt Disney World Resort. My first recommendation would be a private Capture your Moment session at EPCOT, which your future son-in-law can book under the pretense of it being a 21st Birthday surprise. There are so many picturesque and romantic locations across EPCOT World Showcase where he can pop the question, and he can work with the personal photographer assigned to them to secretly let them know before their session. (I think the Italy Pavilion would be my personal pick by far, but the Japan and Morocco Pavilions have some private nooks for a more intimate proposal!)
    • There are so many restaurant options at Disney Springs where I've witnessed other Disney couples get engaged, which is always an option that Cast Members get excited to be a part of. I have a particular soft spot for Paddlefish, which has some perfect proposal spots on the waterfront under the magical glow of the lights on the upper decks overlooking Disney Springs.
