Hiya Coleen, and thanks for stopping by planDisney!
I’m so glad you brought your question here, since it’s the same question my fellow Panelists and I have been asking lately! We sure do miss our happy place! I wish I had better news for you, but unfortunately, we don’t currently have a reopening date for the
Disneyland Resort theme parks. Both theme parks
are temporarily closed, and will reopen at a later date, pending state and local government approvals. To be the first to hEAR about a reopening date, I recommend following the
Disney Parks Blog. This is the best spot for breaking Disney Parks news!
In the meantime, since you live in California, I recommend getting your Disney fix by visiting
Downtown Disney District! I’m so thankful to have one piece of the magic back! Just walking through Downtown Disney makes my heart so happy – from the familiar Disneyland Resort music, to the sweet treats and Disney merchandise, there’s truly something for every Disney fan!
Here are my must-do’s at Downtown Disney District:
1.
World of Disney – No matter the season, World of Disney always has the latest and greatest Disneyland Resort merchandise, toys, and accessories ready for you! They even sell
Disney’s Cloth Face Masks, which are my favorites!
2.
Marceline’s Confectionery – If you’re anything like me, enjoying snacks is half the fun of visiting the theme parks! Well, I’m happy to report that you can still find some familiar treats from the parks at Marceline’s Confectionery! From Churro Toffee, to Mickey’s Premium Ice Cream Bars or Minnie Mouse Candy Apples, it feels so good to savor a piece of the parks! Just be sure to arrive by midday for your best shot at nabbing some Churro Toffee – it tends to sell out quickly!
3.
Naples Ristorante e Bar – This is my family’s favorite spot to dine after some serious shopping! We love splitting the huge family-size pizza… yum!
Before your visit, I recommend
making dining reservations, especially if you plan on visiting on a weekend. A dining reservation will give you priority access to parking, even when the lot is full and parking is temporarily paused. You can find complimentary Downtown Disney District parking in the Simba Lot, located at Disneyland Drive and Katella Ave.
Last but not least, I recommend
clicking here to find out everything you’ll need to know for a successful visit. Also, be sure to bring a face covering for yourself and any Guests ages 2 and older.
I hope we’ll have more information about the reopening of the theme parks soon, Coleen! I’m wishing on a star that it happens for your November visit!
Wishing you magic,
Kristin
