Future Chef on board! Hi! Are there any restaurants, other than the California Grill, where we can watch the chefs cook or view the kitchen?? Thank you!

    Hi Elizabeth,

There are several restaurants that feature an open air kitchen.  They also happen to be some of the best restaurants on Disney property, so you're in for a culinary treat if you choose to dine at these restaurants:
    • Jiko - located at Animal Kingdom Lodge.  In my opinion, this is the BEST restaurant in all of Walt Disney World.
    • Flying Fish Cafe - located on the Boardwalk serves delicious seafood.
    • Citricos - located at Grand Floridian.  I have never had the opportunity to dine here, but I have heard wonderful things about this restaurant.
I don't know how old your "chef in training" is.  If you are looking for more casual dining experiences, there are a few to choose from.

    • Spoodles - located on the Boardwalk.
    • Teppan Edo in the Japan Pavilion at Epcot - guests sit around a hibachi grill and watch chefs prepare their meal.  My children are always really impressed with the talented chefs at this restaurant.
    • 'Ohana at the Polynesian - there is a large oak fire-pit where the meats are roasted.
    • Kona Cafe - also at the Polynesian features an open pastry kitchen where they prepare some beautiful (and delicious) desserts.
Hope this helps.  Have a magical vacation!

Meet the Panelist: Diane, Georgia

After spending 25 years in RI, my husband and I relocated to GA with our youngest, who is now in high school. I took my first trip to Walt Disney World when I was 11 and I have traveled many times since then with all different party sizes. From creating our first itinerary as a honeymooner to later creating magical experiences for our multigenerational family gatherings, every aspect of planning a vacation has been pure joy to me.  Learn More About Diane
