Just fund out my passport will not be here before my cruise. Does my family of 5 need to cancel the cruise, or can I board with some other type ID. I won’t have my birth certificate either. Help, freaking out a little bit.

    Hello, Diana!

Goodness! I’m so sorry you’ve run into troubled waters with your passport. I hope you find it has sailed into your mailbox today! Based on Disney Cruise Line’s Travel Documentation page, the following forms of identification are acceptable for US citizens sailing out of Port Canaveral or Miami:

        • Original valid US Passport
        • Original valid US Passport Card
        • Original valid Trusted Traveler Card (NEXUS, FAST)

    OR

        • Original or copy of their state-issued birth certificate AND a physical Government-issued photo ID (digital/mobile state-issued IDs are not acceptable to sail)

I was in a similar situation a few years ago. I was able to order a copy of my birth certificate online and have it mailed to my house. I did a little digging, and if you were born in Georgia, you may request a certified copy of your birth certificate from your local county office or the State Office of Vital Records. You can also request certified copies online using one of their approved third-party vendors. Hopefully, one of these options works for you!

Diana, since your sailing is just around the corner, I recommend calling Disney Cruise Line about your concerns. They can help you determine the best course of action. I'm sending virtual pixie dust that you'll be able to sail on your originally planned voyage.

    Wishing you smooth sailing ahead,
    Tracie
