Are there fun indoor activities (other than the theme parks) to do with preschoolers when it's hot and you've already done the water parks, pools, etc? We are staying on property.

    Hi, Josephine!

Walt Disney World Resort is such a wonderful place to explore with preschoolers. There truly is magic around every corner at this age. From spotting beloved characters to riding "it’s a small world" on repeat, little ones really soak up every ounce of joy (except for when they get over-excited and the world feels like it's ending, but let's keep it positive).

When the Florida heat calls for a break from the outdoors (especially after you’ve splashed your way through the water parks and resort pools), there are still some fantastic indoor options to enjoy. Over at Disney Springs, the LEGO Store is a preschooler’s paradise with interactive building areas and giant Disney sculptures. There are also other stores that my preschooler loves to visit, like World of Disney and Disney's Days of Christmas. You can also catch a show like Drawn to Life Presented by Cirque du Soleil & Disney. It’s colorful, whimsical, and surprisingly kid-friendly!

Some resorts also offer indoor activities like crafts, movies in the community halls (especially at Disney Vacation Club Resorts), or even arcade games for a little family fun. My kids could spend half a day playing arcade games, if I let them! There is also a fun scavenger hunt at many Disney resort hotels that involves finding a cutout Disney character. They get a free button and stickers for each character they find. My kids LOVE doing this. Last time, we resort hopped and did a scavenger hunt for fun. And don’t forget, you can hop on the monorail or Disney Skyliner just for the ride! Preschoolers love the transportation itself as a mini-adventure.

Here’s a tip from a fellow Disney parent: check the activities board in your resort’s lobby or ask a Cast Member about daily offerings. There are often surprise activities, like indoor story time, games, or even character pop-ups, that aren’t listed online but can turn into sweet unexpected memories.

Wishing you and your little one a magical (and cool!) rest of your stay!
