Hello! What are some fun Halloween/fall ideas, aside from MNNSHP, to do while in WDW? I was looking forward to doing the haunted carriage ride at Fort Wilderness, but heard they weren't having it this fall! :-(

    Hi Heather,

I'm not sure when you have your vacation planned, but if it's on Halloween (or the day before) then there is usually trick-or-treating in Downtown Disney.  Besides collecting candy, guests can enjoy a dance party, storytelling and other entertainment.

Even if you're not planning on attending Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party, you might want to try the Pirates & Pals Fireworks Cruise.  If you do it on a night when the party is happening in the Magic Kingdom you'll be able to view the special fireworks from the boat.

On Halloween, some of the resorts have activities.  Port Orleans, Fort Wilderness and Boardwalk have all had activities for resort guests on Halloween.  Fort Wilderness has a golf cart parade and campfire sing-a-long.  Many of the campers really get into decorating for the holiday.  In fact, you might want to do the campfire program while you're there, even if you visit well before October 31.  It might be worthwhile to take a ride around the Fort to see if any decorations are up.

Hope this helps.  Have a magical vacation!

Meet the Panelist: Diane, Georgia

After spending 25 years in RI, my husband and I relocated to GA with our youngest, who is now in high school. I took my first trip to Walt Disney World when I was 11 and I have traveled many times since then with all different party sizes. From creating our first itinerary as a honeymooner to later creating magical experiences for our multigenerational family gatherings, every aspect of planning a vacation has been pure joy to me.  Learn More About Diane
