    We want to do a fun 4th birthday meal, but not characters. Whispering Canyon looks great. How much time would it take for lunch, including water taxi travel? Don't want to take too much time away from our MK day! Would an 8pm dinner be better?

    Hi Claire - Whispering Canyon is a great choice.  If you are going to be at the Magic Kingdom, I'd expect that it'll take about 45 minutes transit, including waiting.  I'd probably recommend going for dinner, so you don't take too much time away from your day.   In total, you may be gone from the park for three hours if you decide to have lunch there.

    Another great dinner option (without characters) is 'Ohana at the Polynesian, which has a really fun dinner.  It's one of our family's favorites.
